A committed, hugely knowledgeable and pragmatic personal trainer, Chris has positioned himself at the top within his field. Having trained on and off for numerous years I was looking for some direction and accountability with my fitness goals. During an eventful year with a number of big ‘life changes’, Chris was able to tailor a program around my current abilities and commitments whilst ensuing the training was challenging and results focussed. His easy-going character alongside his undeniable passion for what he does leave me no reservations in recommending him. Whatever your fitness goals you should get in touch with him ASAP… your future self will thank you!
It’s coming up to 12 weeks since I initially met Chris for my consultation and I am already smashing through PB’s with no sign of slowing. Before this I was in a perpetual cycle of spending 3 months in the gym, 18 months off, 3 months in the gym, 18 months off. I would always lose motivation because the results would plateau and I wouldn’t know what to do to progress. Having just 10 PT sessions with Chris and now taking advantage of his online coaching programme, I’m pleased to say that I’m feeling highly motivated, stronger than ever and in the best shape I’ve ever been. Chris is extremely personable, highly knowledgeable and dedicated to his field. My only regret is not approaching him sooner.
During my time training with Chris, he always pushed me to meet and beat my targets and expectations of myself. He was always looking for new ways on how to make me improve within my sports whether it was Olympic weightlifting, rugby and even my trials for team GB skeleton (which he pushed me to go for). After these trial, I was then asked to join the talent program for GB skeleton and am now a full-time athlete. I wouldn’t be where I am today without training with Chris! Definitely, recommend!
Chris is an excellent personal trainer. Having been unable to train for well over a year due to a serious back injury I felt unfit, unmotivated and overwhelmed. I started back at the gym but had no idea where to start, the last thing I
wanted to do was injure my back again. I gave in and realised I needed someone to take on the responsibility and stress. Having ‘interviewed’ a number of PTS around the Tunbridge Wells area Chris ticked all the
boxes. Chris worked around my schedule, built my confidence with lifting weights and motivated me into getting into shape again.
I was over exercising and under eating the wrong balance of foods decided to seek professional help and found Chris Dear from ESP he is brilliant and I would recommend him to anyone who is serious about losing weight wanting to become strong or stronger and managing which foods to eat and how much- my goal was to make a lower weight category for my Judo competition which meant I had to lose 5 kilos all his advice and guidance was spot on I made weight before my dead line which was brilliant I will be returning to Chris Dear in the very near future for more advice leading up to my next competition great work
Thank you, Chris.
Chris’s extensive knowledge of nutrition, fat-loss and Strength & Conditioning helped me improve my figure, strength and health. I’ve never been a fan of gyms and found the idea of training daunting, but his sessions were very motivating and fun, and by constantly adapting my programme he kept me on track and always working towards my goals which changed my outlook on fitness. I’d strongly recommend Chris to anyone looking to improve their health and fitness & to improve their performance in their sport!
Thank you, Chris!!!
I have been training Chris for 5 months, and have seen amazing results in that time. Chris is a truly excellent trainer. He has a treasure trove of health and fitness knowledge; expert in mobility, weightlifting, crossfit, and nutrition. Chris’s perfect combination of diverse training methods, individualized exercise programs
and challenging yet achievable goal setting. Because of his efforts, I am stronger and more flexible, I have better balance and most importantly, working out has become fun. He’s easy going, friendly personality creates a
relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. He is the real deal in an industry full of wannabees and is the standard by which any trainer should be measured.
I’ve been working with Chris now since the start of the year, his knowledge and expertise coupled with his attention to detail has helped me make massive progress in strength and fitness. Recently I was privileged to represent GB at
the Masters Inline Hockey World Championships and I know 100% that Chris had me at peak fitness so I was able to give my all. We have already started making plans to help me get selected again for next year.
I went to Chris to get my fitness back on track after the first year of living with a new child took its toll on my waistline. I singled him out for his crossfit credentials, but stayed for the Olympic weightlifting after falling in love with the discipline, his coaching repeatedly getting me the results I was after. I’d never had a coach before, but it was well and truly worth the investment if you want results I can highly recommend Chris coaching talents.
I began training with chris a little over a year ago now when I first showed interest in Olympic weightlifting. Chris’ experience and knowledge of both training and nutrition has helped me to keep my bodyweight in check
while massively increasing strength (my snatch has gone from 50kg to 92kg and my clean and jerk has gone from 70kg to 115kg, so over 40kg on each lift in just over a year) I would highly reccomend chris to anyone looking to build strength, lose a few pounds and generally become better. Chris helps you to train hard, get results and have a good laugh doing it!
I booked up several months of personal training with Chris, with the aim of improving my Crossfit technique in many of the Olympic lifts, which would, in the long term, help me improve my overall strength. Chris stripped everything back to the basics, working me through each step of the lift bit by bit, slowly improving my confidence, over the weeks, to lift more than I would have ever thought I could. Chris also looked at my diet to help me loose some fat, gain muscle and improve my overall Crossfit performance. According to Chris, my usual Chocolate Orange for breakfast every morning isn’t going to help with any of that!!! Chris would review my diet, weight and body measurement each week, and I can honestly say, my approach to food has completely changed. I feel full for much longer, my energy has increased substantially, I have lost weight and increased my muscle. No more Chocolate Orange for me….ok, maybe just on cheat days!
Thanks again Chris for everything over the last few months. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending you to anyone who wants to improve their overall fitness and strength and am excited to apply everything I have learned in my Crossfit classes.
I have been getting coached by Chris for the last 10 weeks, I had previously been competing and training in crossfit for around 18months and I got completely hooked on the Olympic lifting discipline which features in crossfit. I had heard of Chris’s reputation as a great coach through mutual friends and via other personal trainers at my gym. I had a basic knowledge of the technical aspects of the lifts, enough to get me through a tasty WOD but to fully appreciate and understand the movements an experienced coach was the next step for me. I can honestly say, Chris has been great. In the short time spent under Chris’s guidance I have grown in confidence and been hitting PB’s in both Olympic lifting and squats on a regular basis, I’m excited to see what I can achieve in my 1st competition and the next 10 weeks and beyond.
I began training with Chris in late 2013. Initially I was concerned about the aesthetics of my body and my primary focus was to lose weight and to tone. With Chris’ support and motivation I began to achieve noticeable results quickly. He inspired me to not only lose weight but to improve my strength and mobility. I was born with a malformed spine which unfortunately caused me a lot of pain and discomfort. Through training I was able to improve my flexibility and movement. I went from attending the chiropractor 3 times a week to once every 8 weeks. This was only possible due to Chris’ dedication and the fact he never gave up on me, even though I sometimes
wanted to give up on myself. When we first started I could barely perform an air squat, but 3 and half years later I am taking part in fun runs and obstacle races, something that would never have been possible without Chris’ mentoring. Thanks Coach
